LHS Summer Reading Program
IMPORTANT PAPERS CAN BE FOUND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE. SCROLL DOWN.
The purpose of the summer reading program is to stem the tide of learning loss over the summer break, while at the same time promoting recreational reading and book discussion among students and faculty. We believe that we have created an enjoyable program that will keep students interested and engaged in learning over the summer months.
The program has three basic components: read, write, discuss. Students are expected to read one book of their choosing over the summer vacation. After they read, they should complete an online book summary sheet that will be shared in their Advisory group on Wednesday, August 20th, 2014. In addition, students who read more than 5 books will be entered to win a prize.
Program information will be distributed in May report cards, plus made available in the main high school and guidance offices. Contact the LHS library for more information. All forms can be found below. "Student Information" provides information on the program.
We look forward to another summer of reading!
